Existence Theorems of Fold-maps

Let N and P be smooth manifolds of dimensions n and p (n ≥ p ≥ 2) respectively. A smooth map having only fold singularities is called a fold-map. We will study conditions for a continuous map f : N → P to be homotopic to a fold-map from the viewpoint of the homotopy principle. By certain homotopy principles for fold-maps, we prove that if there exists a fiberwise epimorphism TN ⊕ θN → TP coveri...

Some Existence and Convergence Theorems of Best Proximity Point for New Nonlinear Cyclic Maps

In this paper, some new existence and convergence theorems of best proximity point for new nonlinear cyclic maps are established. These results generalize and improve some main results in [5, 20, 21] and references therein.

Existence Theorems for Some Systems of Quasi–variational Inequalities Problems on Uniformly Prox–regular Sets

In this paper, some systems of quasi-variational inequality problems are considered on a class of nonconvex sets, as uniformly prox-regular sets. Some sufficient conditions for the existence solution of the considered problems are provided. Also, some interesting remarks are discussed. The results which are presented in this paper are more general, and may be viewed as an extension, improvement...

Some Existence Theorems for Nonconvex Variational Inequalities Problems

and Applied Analysis 3 the uniform r-prox-regularity C is equivalent to the convexity of C. Moreover, it is clear that the class of uniformly prox-regular sets is sufficiently large to include the class p-convex sets, C1,1 submanifolds possibly with boundary of H, the images under a C1,1 diffeomorphism of convex sets, and many other nonconvex sets; see 6, 8 . Now, let us state the following fac...

Non-existence and Splitting Theorems for Normal Integral Bases

We establish new conditions that prevent the existence of (weak) normal integral bases in tame Galois extensions of number fields. This leads to the following result: under appropriate technical hypotheses, the existence of a normal integral basis in the upper layer of an abelian tower Q ⊂ K ⊂ L forces the tower to be split in a very strong sense.
